Money, Money, Monay!
My hubby and I do ok financially. I get to be a stay at home mom. Our bills get paid. . . somehow. But we do live paycheck to paycheck. Kind of frustrating. So, I bought Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover book. I love it. Everything he says is commonsense, but I needed to hear it from someone else. I love the way he explains things. I wasn't going to post about this, but today I saw two other bloggers post about Dave. I was inspired. It's great to hear that someone else is doing it and has done it! Congrats Thrifty Decor Chick and Simply Brookes:! I'm hoping that someone else will read this and be inspired to join the Total Money Makeover. I feel like it'll make my life a lot easier. For a while it will be stressful (I think this is why I haven't started it yet), but worth it in the end. Sorry if I sound preachy. . . Maybe I'm trying to talk myself into starting it. =)

Thank you Tammy. You can do it! We are all in this together. WE can keep each other posted.
ReplyDeleteGood luck and let me know.
Thanks again for the mention. Very kind!
Wendy
I need to get myself on a budget, like NOW!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday! :-) Hope you had a great week! Stop on by my blog for my Valentine's Day GIVE-A-WAY!!
Be sure to keep us posted! Sounds like the book could really help. :)
ReplyDeleteSo proud of you! It really works. I think the hardest part was having Brian use cash instead of the debit card. He got used to it though and we are doing so much better. I'm excited for you!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
ReplyDeleteI have this book & it got me out of credit card debt. I have reccomended it to so many people. My biggest reccomendation if you have any debt is to do the list like he says...put it somewhere you'll see it everyday but if you're like me & still need some privacy then in your bedroom where your guests wouldn't see all your debt amounts (lol) and snowball the debt...taking a big fat sharpie marker to each pay off! Good Luck & as with anything including getting into shape etc you CAN do it!

I stumbled across your blog today. My husband and I live in Colorado too. We're working through a lot of Dave Ramsey's stuff now. It's funny how you mention it's very common sense but we still refuse to do it. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Erika!!
ReplyDeleteAshley, I'm lazy. Common sense doesn't work for me. HaHa... But it is, isn't it? =)
So crazy that you posted about this! I just started listening to his show online and my fiance and I were just discussing getting the book too! I do wish you well on your financial success. Aren't we all living paycheck to paycheck these days lol. It's crazy sometimes.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the common sense thing, some things that are so simple we make so difficult. I even pride myself on common sense! Book sense however is another story lol.
